SALCOMBE NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION...

For us, the most beautiful part of the country, and one our family is lucky enough to call home. Not only home to us, but also to many amazing fishermen and women, whom without, we simply would have no business. Bringing together the fruits of their labour, Salcombe Suppers exists to bring ‘a delicious taste of Salcombe’ to you, wherever that might be.  

Meet the team (family)… Mum and Dad have now been running award-winning seafood restaurants for the best part of 20 years. During lockdown, stuck with a load of fresh – but sadly surplus – seafood, we decided to get in on the act. No business plan, just a desire to keep it from going into the bin.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve come to realise that seafood wastage isn’t just a lockdown problem. With over a QUARTER* of everything that lands going into the bin, it’s a huge global issue. Using our seafood culinary expertise, we’re now on a mission to fight seafood wastage, one delicious Supper at a time. *

OUR STORY SO FAR...

The best bit? We’re only getting started.

  • EARLY 2021

    Recipe development started from home in deep, dark lockdown. (This was the first ever made!)

  • SPRING 2021

    Packaging at the ready, it was time for the first photoshoot. Onboard a friend's yacht, Dorothy (you might see it bobbing around Salcombe).

  • SUMMER 2021

    Production moved to Crab Shed Salcombe, and it was GO time.

  • We secured our first stockist, at Aune Valley, Kingsbridge. We sold all four in a day, which at the time, felt like we'd put Mr Charlie Bigham's out of business.

  • Supper's were selling well, and Aune were wanting more, and more...

  • We hand delivered our first Supper to a friend's house, which got us first thinking about home delivery...

  • AUTUMN 2021

    After an amazing first summer, it was time to look at more Suppers...so, we welcomed curries to the Supper Club.

  • CHRISTMAS 2021

    We hosted our first Supper Club, which in true Salcombe Suppers fashion, was a seafood feast.

  • In time for the Salcombe Christmas rush, we launched our curries, from both Crab Shed Salcombe, and Aune.

  • SPRING 2022

    Summer was on the horizon, and it was time to get the freezers filled up.

  • SUMMER 2022

    We started to make more, but then sell out, make more. Sell out. Repeat.

  • AUTUMN 2022

    After another awesome summer, we started to reflect on feedback like this, and began to think this might just be scalable. But the novelty of cooking in the middle of the night at Crab Shed Salcombe was waning, and we needed a plan. It was going to take some time, so...

  • London called! We launched our pop-up at The Sporting Page, Chelsea.

  • After an epic first weekend, we got on Deliveroo.

    We have new Suppers in the pipeline - with varied portion sizes - and much more planned.

  • WHERE WE ARE GOING NEXT?

    Our London pop-up has allowed us to work out our plan, experiment with the concept, build our team, and secure a short-term premises. However, expect to see our Rosé Pink Arches hanging in Salcombe soon…

  • AFTER THAT?

    Who knows, but we don't stop dreaming...
